Jack doesn't resist being laid down. He's never had anyone take care of him and he's visibly nervous. He trusts Balthazar but it's so unexpected to not have to be the one bandaging himself and others.
"If you have thread and a needle I can sew it up." This was what Jack was used to. He had sewn wounds before without anything for the pain aside from an occasional drink.
